The Brightwell approach
Brightwell was opened in 2005 to treat lower limb problems that have their cause in the way the foot works. That principle still shapes every appointment.
We look for the reason your foot or leg hurts, rather than treating the symptom and sending you on your way.
A clinic built around podiatry, biomechanics and gait analysis, run by HCPC registered clinicians since 2005.
Treatment, realignment and strength work, with a clear route back to walking, working and sport in comfort.
Treatments
Everyday foot care
Your feet are expected to take around 10,000 steps a day — over 3.5 million steps a year.
Musculoskeletal
Does it hurt to walk or run? Do your feet ache across the ball of the foot or in the arch? Pain in the lower limb often begins somewhere other than where you feel it.
Procedures
Nail surgery is used for several painful nail conditions — most commonly nails that grow into the skin, or nails with a very curved shape, which we call involuted nails..
Skin
Verrucae and warts are caused by a virus in the top layers of the skin.
Nails
Onychomycosis is the medical name for a fungal nail infection.
Musculoskeletal
Orthotics work a little like spectacles.
Musculoskeletal
The podiatrists at Brightwell Clinic have a long-standing interest in children's foot health and are members of the national interest group for podiatric treatment for children..
Working together
Many of the patients we see need a holistic approach.
Biomechanics & gait analysis
A 60 minute assessment looks at your history, your joints, your strength and the way you walk or run. We explain what we find in plain English, then agree a plan with you.
After 10 years of struggling to cope with calloused feet, and a corn on the ball of my foot, within weeks of seeing Vicky I have a spring in my step. No callus, no corn — I can walk without pain.
