Everyday foot care

Chiropody & podiatry

Your feet are expected to take around 10,000 steps a day — over 3.5 million steps a year. That is why it is sensible to see a podiatrist at least once a year. In our experience people wait far longer than they need to before making an appointment.

Common reasons people come to us

  • Walking has become uncomfortable
  • Footwear that used to be fine now rubs
  • Nail care has become difficult to manage at home
  • Diabetes or a circulatory condition means feet need regular checking

How we assess the problem

  1. 01We ask what is bothering you and how long it has been going on.
  2. 02We look at your skin, nails, footwear and the way you load your feet.
  3. 03We explain what we can see in plain English before anything is treated.

What to expect

An initial appointment lasts 45 minutes, which gives us time to talk, assess and treat. Follow-up appointments are 30 minutes, and a short appointment of 15 minutes is available for straightforward routine care.

Aftercare

We will talk through footwear, skin care and anything you can do at home, and let you know if and when it is worth coming back.
