About the clinic
A clinic built around how the body moves.
Brightwell Clinic opened in the autumn of 2005 to provide a facility in central Reading, primarily for the treatment of lower limb musculoskeletal problems that have their cause in abnormal biomechanical foot compensation.
We seek to diagnose the root cause of an overuse injury rather than simply treat the symptoms, and to give you a treatment plan and a route back to full recovery — and beyond.

Our philosophy
Treating the body in motion.
The same five ideas sit behind every treatment plan we write, whether you came in with a corn or with a running injury.
- 01
Diagnose the underlying cause
And explain the ways it can be managed.
- 02
Treat the injury
Including soft tissue injury where that is what we find.
- 03
Realign gait and stability
So the load through your foot and leg is shared better.
- 04
Improve strength
Core stability and tailored exercise for what you need to do.
- 05
Support long-term movement
With review and follow-up when it is genuinely useful.
The Reading premises
The clinic operates from an air-conditioned modern extension at the rear of the Bath stone Georgian crescent on Queens Road. The postcode for satnavs is RG1 4AU, and the clinic is easy to reach by car or public transport.
We also run a branch clinic upstairs at Newdays Pharmacy in the heart of Twyford village — a modern, recently refurbished clinic offering the same care you receive in Reading.
